This was something put on my heart and I wanted to share. I am reading the book, The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield and I ran across something that spoke to me. Here's an excerpt from the book:
"How many people do you know who are obsessed with their work, who are type A or have stress related diseases and who can't slow down? They can't slow down because they use their routine to distract themselves, to reduce life to only its practical considerations. And they do this to avoid recalling how uncertain they are about why they live."
Those words caused me to pause and reflect. How many people would rather stick with their routines rather than explore WHO they are and WHY they were truly created? Unfortunately, I know a lot of people who do. They KNOW there is more to life than what they're experiencing. They KNOW there's more to life than what they are doing. Yet, they won't take the time to figure it out for themselves.
Why are you here? Yes YOU! Why are YOU here? More specifically, why are you here at this particularly time in history? It blows my mind when I think about how God, who is the same yesterday, today and forever, chose to breathe life into me during this time in eternity.
Please take some time for yourself and think about this. Ask yourself, "Why and I here? What is my purpose? What talents, gifts, experiences, do I have that can benefit others?" Remember your purpose is not about you. It is how you can best give yourself away to others. It's about how you can serve someone.
